As a man­u­fac­tur­er of poly­imide tapes and films (gener­ic ver­sion of Kap­ton), we are often asked whether we can make cus­tom-made shapes and sizes to meet advanced pack­ag­ing require­ments. The requests come from design engi­neers look­ing to incor­po­rate poly­imide films into their designs, often to cre­ate an insu­la­tion lay­ers between two parts.kapton_shape

CAPLINQ offers this ser­vice and can even sup­ply this for fair­ly low vol­ume appli­ca­tions. For exam­ple, the image shown is a 3mil (0.003″ or 0.075mm) poly­imide film with a cus­tom-shape with max­i­mum out­side dimen­sions of 19.4mm x 9.4mm.

  1. hel­lo, i am an elec­tron­ics stu­dent in the process of design­ing an extra cur­ric­u­lar project. my project includes kap­ton, or also known as poly­imide! i am plan­ing on mak­ing a poly­imide poster, with SMD LED’s sur­face mount­ed to the poly­imide. i am look­ing for some one who can sup­ply me a spe­cif­ic size of poly­imide, with a spe­cif­ic con­duc­tor trace print­ed onto the poly­imide as well. i would also prob­a­bly order a bulk amount of these prints.
