Daniel Wong joins CAPLINQ as a Regional Sales Manager for Malaysia

We are hap­py to announce that effec­tive August 1st, 2022, Daniel Wong has joined CAPLINQ as a Region­al Sales Man­ag­er in Malaysia. Daniel will be work­ing full-time out of Greater George town in Malaysia, set­ting up our Malaysia enti­ty and region­al offices. Out of this new enti­ty he will be sup­port­ing oper­a­tions in Malaysia, Sin­ga­pore, Indone­sia, Viet­nam, and Thailand.

Daniel was born in Noth­ern Malaysia and moved to Penang in the ear­ly 00s to study and grad­u­ate from Penang Skills Devel­op­ment cen­tre with an Advanced diplo­ma in mechan­i­cal and mecha­tron­ics engi­neer­ing. But that was a long, long time ago. In the mean­time, Daniel has been busy fly­ing through mul­ti­ple posi­tions with­in the semi­con­duc­tor, indus­tri­al and auto­mo­tive industries. 

He start­ed his career with Intel Tech­nol­o­gy Penang as he was han­dling the Flip Chip Under­fill process for 4 years. Fol­low­ing that, he went after a career in Sales/Commercial hav­ing the inter­est to learn to com­mu­ni­cate with peo­ple and strate­gic partners.

All these years of prod­uct, appli­ca­tion, and busi­ness expe­ri­ence, along with his ener­getic and open per­son­al­i­ty made Daniel a great fit for this all-encom­pass­ing posi­tion. He will be able to use his skill and knowl­edge to expand our oper­a­tions in the area and focus on man­u­fac­tur­ers and sub­con­trac­tors that reg­u­lar­ly coop­er­ate with the RnD cen­ters we are work­ing with in Europe and the Amer­i­c­as. This will give CAPLINQ a com­plete pres­ence from the design phase, down to the end prod­uct and ensure that we are part of the entire chain; from prod­uct design to the man­u­fac­tur­ing process.

Daniels enjoys exer­cis­ing. He is a huge foot­ball (soc­cer) fan and you can often find him run­ning, lift­ing weights, or hik­ing. Read­ing (espe­cial­ly self-devel­op­ment books) camp­ing, and trav­el­ing are some of his oth­er pas­sions. His friend and fam­i­ly would describe him as ener­getic, pos­i­tive, cheeky and help­ful.

Daniel to setup CAPLINQ Malaysia and lead the Sales in the area

Key to this role will be to work with our cus­tomers to clear­ly under­stand their prod­uct require­ments and help them find and imple­ment the right prod­ucts to meet their pro­duc­tion require­ments. Daniel will also act as our local con­fide, iden­ti­fy­ing and expand­ing our pres­ence in the region.

Orga­ni­za­tion­al­ly, Daniel will report to the Busi­ness Devel­op­ment Direc­tor but will inter­act with all depart­ments as he under­stands and gath­ers the infor­ma­tion need­ed to best help CAPLINQ’s customers.
