Garrett Schrum celebrates 9 months at CAPLINQ as Sales Engineer

I am hap­py to announce that as of Sep­tem­ber 4th, 2021, Gar­rett Schrum cel­e­brat­ed his 9 months anniver­sary with CAPLINQ Amer­i­c­as as Sales Engi­neer. Work­ing out of our offices in Livo­nia, Michi­gan, USA, Gar­rett has and will con­tin­ue to lead our tech­ni­cal sales efforts of our spe­cial­ty chem­i­cals and plas­tics in the Americas.

Announcement comes better late than never!

Though Gar­rett has now been with CAPLINQ for more than 9 months, the COVID-pan­dem­ic made his wel­come announce­ment dif­fi­cult to make with­out being able to trav­el between Europe and the USA. We did­n’t want to let the oppor­tu­ni­ty pass us by how­ev­er and want­ed to at least rec­og­nize his con­tri­bu­tion to the team.

I real­ly enjoy find­ing pat­terns in dif­fer­ent things and have always enjoyed piec­ing togeth­er how parts of a sys­tem work togeth­er. I look for­ward to work­ing with cus­tomers to help them make it all come together.

Gar­rett is our first US employ­ee hav­ing start­ed only 10 days after incor­po­rat­ing as CAPLINQ Amer­i­c­as, Inc. in Detroit, Michi­gan. The expan­sion in the USA comes after our suc­cess­ful track record in Cana­da, Europe and Asia attract­ed both cus­tomers and sup­pli­ers who asked us about our Amer­i­can expan­sion plans.

As the first employ­ee in new com­pa­ny expan­sion dur­ing a glob­al COVID-pan­dem­ic, Gar­rett has had his hands full since the first day. While learn­ing the CAPLINQ prod­uct lines and busi­ness sys­tems, he also was instru­men­tal in get­ting our US office and ware­house set­up and running.

Gar­rett comes to us as a grad­u­ate from the Uni­ver­si­ty of Cincin­nati where he received a Bach­e­lor of Sci­ence in Chem­i­cal Engi­neer­ing. Dur­ing his time at school he com­plet­ed mul­ti­ple co-op terms that gave him an under­stand­ing of process devel­op­ment and spe­cial­ty chemicals.

Gar­rett has lived in many states in the US, includ­ing Geor­gia, dif­fer­ent parts of Ohio and South Car­oli­na. He most recent­ly lived in Michi­gan and will con­tin­ue to live there as he works from the CAPLINQ Amer­i­c­as Inc. office in Livo­nia, MI.

In his free time, Gar­rett enjoys play­ing video games, learn­ing chess, spend­ing time with friends, and dis­cov­er­ing new music.

Garrett to support and serve our American customers

Key to this role will be to sup­port cus­tomers in their prod­uct qual­i­fi­ca­tion process includ­ing mak­ing prod­uct rec­om­men­da­tions and pro­vid­ing tech­ni­cal sup­port in mak­ing these prod­ucts work in cus­tomers’ pro­duc­tion environment.

Orga­ni­za­tion­al­ly, Gar­rett will report to the Glob­al Sales Direc­tor but will inter­act with all depart­ments as he under­stands and imple­ments the tech­nolo­gies that CAPLINQ can offer its customers.

He is always interested in taking highly technical subjects and distilling these to their essence so that even the layman can understand. He loves to get into the technical details of an issue and then understand how it can be useful for specific customers and applications.
