Conductive plastic film application: TENS Electrodes

TENS Electrodes stands for Transcutaneous Electrical Nerve Stimulation.

In the healthcare sector, TENS Electrodes are used for medical and physiotherapy treatment.

So, the nerve stimulation help prevent pain signals from reaching the brain. Also, they help stimulate your body to produce higher levels of its own natural painkillers, called endorphins.

How TENS Electrodes works

TENS machines work by sending these pulses through electric current. Across the TENS electrodes and surface of the skin and along the nerves.

Therefore, to be able to carry this electric current from the machine to the skin, a layer of electrically conductive film is necessary, usually in the middle of the gel layers, because the gel layers are specifically designed to have adherence with conductive film, as you can see in the image below.

CAPLINQ presents the LINQSTAT XVCF Series of Conductive films

For TENS electrodes application, CAPLINQ offers the LINQSTAT XVCF Series.

This highly conductive film has a higher carbon loading that gives us a lower resistance and as such, a higher conductivity. Furthermore, CAPLINQ LINQSTAT™ XVCF Series conductive films are thin, lightweight and relatively inert.

Due to its low-resistivity and its resistance to a range of chemicals and alcohols, LINQSTAT XVCF series films are a perfect choice for TENS electrodes application.

CAPLINQ is a specialty plastics supplier offering a range of conductive materials including our broad range of electrically conductive plastics and antistatic tapes and films. If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to contact us to find out more about using our products for TENS electrodes applications.
