Donovan Cerneüs joins CAPLINQ as Technical Sales Representative

I am hap­py to announce that effec­tive Novem­ber 9th, 2020, Dono­van Cerneüs has joined CAPLINQ as Tech­ni­cal Ser­vice Rep­re­sen­ta­tive. Dono­van will be work­ing full-time out of our new offices in Assendelft, the Nether­lands, a short dri­ve from his home­town of Purmerend where he grew up.

I love chemistry and look forward to the opportunity to use my technical skills while developing my commercial skills. 

Dono­van grad­u­at­ed from InHol­land Ams­ter­dam with a bach­e­lor’s degree in ana­lyt­i­cal Chem­istry. Dur­ing his pro­gram, he fell in love with Chem­istry and want­ed to broad­en his the­o­ret­i­cal knowl­edge in Chem­istry and thus pur­sued a Master’s joint degree in organ­ic chem­istry at the Uni­ver­si­ty of Ams­ter­dam (UvA) and the “Vri­je Uni­ver­siteit” (VU). 

To help pay his way through school, Dono­van always worked held part-time side jobs. Even in these posi­tions, Dono­van excelled. Dur­ing his time at Albert Hei­jn XL in Purmerend, Dono­van was pro­mot­ed from stock clerk to team leader (the youngest at that point in time). Like­wise, while work­ing at Schiphol air­port, his supe­ri­ors quick­ly rec­og­nized his ambi­tions, and he was pro­mot­ed from bag­gage han­dler to freight han­dler, a posi­tion with more account­abil­i­ty and responsibility.

These out­side expe­ri­ences helped to shape Dono­van’s world view. Though the tech­ni­cal aspects of the chem­istry always fas­ci­nat­ed Dono­van, and he enjoyed the time he spent in the labs, it was the com­bi­na­tion of tech­ni­cal and com­mer­cial that most appealed to Dono­van. He feels the Tech­ni­cal Sales Rep­re­sen­ta­tive role per­fect­ly plays to his strengths and he is excit­ed to be part of the CAPLINQ team.

In his free time, Dono­van enjoys going to the gym, doing social activ­i­ties, trav­el­ing and meet­ing new peo­ple, and gam­ing. Dono­van’s friends and fam­i­ly best define Dono­van as ambi­tious, enthu­si­as­tic, social, ener­getic, and most of all “a very pos­i­tive person.”

Donovan to develop and support new technical sales opportunities

Key to this role will be to work with our cus­tomers to clear­ly under­stand their prod­uct require­ments and help them find and imple­ment the right prod­ucts to meet their pro­duc­tion requirements.

Orga­ni­za­tion­al­ly, Dono­van will report to the Busi­ness Devel­op­ment Direc­tor but will inter­act with all depart­ments as he under­stands and gath­ers the infor­ma­tion need­ed to best help CAPLIN­Q’s customers.
