LORD® LokRelease 800 Adhesive Stripping Solution
- Swells dried-on adhesives for chunk release and easy filtration
- Solution can be recycled to help reduce waste-disposal burden
- Less aggressive and economical solvent
Product Description
LORD® LokRelease™ 800 is a chemical adhesive stripping solution designed to remove dried-on Flocklok®, Chemlok®, and other adhesive buildup from storage vessels, baths, pumps, transfer lines, application fixtures, and masks. It is used at full strength, has a typical dynamic viscosity of 5 mPa·s, density of 0.88 g/cm3, and a flash point of 22 °F (-5 °C). Its swell-and-release stripping action is formulated to cause dried adhesive to detach in large chunks that can then be filtered out of the stripping solution.
Product Key Features
- Swell-and-Release Action - formulated to swell dried-on adhesive so it falls away in large filterable chunks rather than dissolving into slurry.
- Full-Strength Use - applied without dilution for direct stripping of adhesive buildup from equipment and tooling surfaces.
- Recyclable Solution - solution can be recycled, with reuse life dependent on contamination from previous stripping operations.
- Reduced Mechanical Cleaning Load - positioned to reduce reliance on most mechanical removal steps during vessel and fixture cleaning.
- Industrial Process Fit - intended for industrial/commercial use by trained personnel for equipment, line, and fixture cleaning operations.
Applications
This product fits adhesive removal operations where dried buildup must be detached, filtered, and cleared from process equipment and tooling.
- Industrial Equipment Cleaning: Removal of adhesive buildup from storage vessels, baths, pumps, and transfer lines used in adhesive processing.
- Fixture Maintenance: Cleaning of application fixtures and masks where dried adhesive buildup must be removed without extensive scraping.
- Adhesive Removal: Formulated to swell dried-on adhesive so it drops off in large chunks for easier filtration and removal from the stripping bath.

| Viscosity Viscosity Viscosity is a measurement of a fluid’s resistance to flow. Viscosity is commonly measured in centiPoise (cP). One cP is defined as the viscosity of water and all other viscosities are derived from this base. MPa is another common unit with a 1:1 conversion to cP. A product like honey would have a much higher viscosity -around 10,000 cPs- compared to water. As a result, honey would flow much slower out of a tipped glass than water would. The viscosity of a material can be decreased with an increase in temperature in order to better suit an application | 5 mPa.s |
| Thermal Properties | |
| Flash Point Flash Point The flashpoint of a solvent is the lowest possible temperature at which it can vaporize to form an ignitable vapor. Flashpoint is often confused with “autoignition temperature”, which is the temperature at which a solvent ignites without an ignition source. | -5 °C |

Processing Summary
Setup Points That Matter in Use
- Use solution full strength. Do not dilute.
- Apply directly to surfaces requiring stripping.
- Keep surfaces wetted throughout the stripping cycle.
- Filter out large released chunks during use.
- Thicker adhesive accumulations may require longer dwell time.
- Mechanical agitation improves stripping rate.
- When practical, heating with reflux can be beneficial.
- After stripping, surfaces may be rinsed with a clean solvent of choice.
- Store at ambient temperature in the original, unopened container.
- Shelf life is 18 months from date of manufacture.
- Recycled solution life depends on residual contaminants from previous operations.
- Review contamination level before continued reuse.
Critical Caution: This product is a flammable liquid with a flash point of 22 °F (-5 °C). Keep away from heat, sparks, open flames, and hot surfaces. Provide sufficient ventilation, note that solvent vapors are heavier than air and can collect in lower work areas, and use only by trained personnel with appropriate PPE.
