Product Description

The 3M™ Scotch-Weld™ EPX™ Mixing Nozzle is a disposable mixing accessory designed for use with 3M™ Scotch-Weld™ Structural Adhesives and concrete repair compounds packaged in Duo-Pak (DP) cartridges. When connected to a compatible cartridge and dispensed through a standard caulk gun or EPX applicator, the mixing nozzle simultaneously meters, mixes, and dispenses both components in a single operation, delivering a consistently blended material directly at the point of application without the need for manual mixing.

Its tapered tip can be trimmed to adjust bead size for more precise adhesive placement across a range of bonding, sealing, and repair geometries. After dispensing, the used nozzle may remain attached to the cartridge, allowing the cured material inside the nozzle to act as a seal that protects the remaining adhesive until the next use.

3M Scotch-Weld EPX Concrete Repair Mixing Nozzles - 8.4 Oz Bag (3 Nozzles), For 2-Part3M Scotch-Weld EPX Concrete Repair Mixing Nozzle 53382 | Adhesive Applicators

3M™ Scotch-Weld™ EPX™ Mixing Nose

Disposable mixing accessory for precise placement of two-component 3M™ Scotch-Weld™ adhesives and repair compounds.

The 3M™ Scotch-Weld™ EPX™ Mixing Nose is a disposable mixing accessory designed for use with 3M™ Scotch-Weld™ Structural Adhesives and concrete repair compounds in Duo-Pak (DP) cartridges. When attached to a compatible cartridge and dispensed through a standard caulk gun or EPX applicator, the mixing nose simultaneously meters, mixes, and delivers both components in a single operation, producing a thoroughly blended material at the point of application without manual mixing.

The tapered tip can be cut to adjust bead width for more precise placement in different joint and repair geometries. Once an application is complete, the used mixing nose can be left in place on the cartridge, where the mixed material inside cures and hardens to seal the outlet and protect the remaining adhesive until next use.

Simultaneous metering, mixing, and application in one step

Both adhesive components are metered and blended as they pass through the mixing nose, eliminating the need for manual preparation or separate mixing tools before applying to the substrate. Material is delivered thoroughly mixed and ready for immediate use at the nozzle tip.

Tapered tip for adjustable bead size and precise placement

The tapered outlet tip can be cut to the desired diameter, allowing operators to control bead width and target adhesive or repair compound precisely into joints, cracks, and narrow application areas without overfill or waste.

Used mixing nose seals the cartridge between applications

When dispensing is paused, leaving the used mixing nose in place on the cartridge allows the mixed material inside to cure and harden, forming a seal that protects the remaining adhesive from moisture and air exposure until the next application session.

Disposable design eliminates mixing tool cleanup

Mixing noses are designed to be replaced rather than cleaned, removing the time and materials required to clean mixing tools between jobs. Replacing with a fresh mixing nose and purging a short bead is all that is needed to resume application with correctly blended material.

Original 3M accessory engineered to exact applicator tolerances

Designed as an original 3M accessory for use with the 3M Scotch-Weld EPX applicator system and compatible caulk guns. Using original accessories ensures the metering accuracy and mixing consistency that the adhesive's performance specifications require.

Available in configurations for small-format and larger cartridges

Two variants are available to cover 50 mL small-format Duo-Pak cartridges and 250 mL larger-format repair cartridges at a 1:1 mix ratio, providing the right fit for different cartridge sizes and application volumes without requiring separate product families.

Why Mixing Nose Selection Affects Application Quality

For two-component adhesives and repair compounds, the mixing accessory is a direct determinant of material quality at the point of application. Using the correct mixing nose for the cartridge format ensures that both components are metered at the right ratio and thoroughly blended before they reach the substrate.

Off-ratio mixing reduces adhesive and repair compound performance

Two-component adhesives and repair compounds are formulated to perform at a specific mix ratio. A mixing nose that does not match the cartridge outlet geometry can allow one component to dominate, resulting in off-ratio material that cures poorly, bonds weakly, or fails under load. Using an original 3M mixing nose matched to the cartridge format prevents this.

Precise tip placement reduces waste and contamination in repair work

In concrete repair and joint filling, applying material accurately into a crack or joint without overfill reduces cleanup time, prevents contamination of adjacent surfaces, and makes better use of the adhesive or repair compound in the cartridge. The adjustable tapered tip on the mixing nose gives operators direct control over bead width at the point of application.

Sealing cartridges between uses preserves remaining material

Partially used cartridges of two-component adhesives and repair compounds are vulnerable to contamination if the outlet is left unsealed. Leaving the used mixing nose in place after dispensing creates a hardened seal that extends the usable life of the cartridge and reduces material waste between application sessions.

Available Variants

Two variants are available to match different cartridge sizes. Select the variant based on the cartridge format used with your 3M adhesive or repair compound. Always confirm the mixing nose is specified for the cartridge size and mix ratio before dispensing.

Applicator Compatibility Note

The 50 mL variant is designed for use with the 3M EPX applicator system for Duo-Pak cartridges. The 250 mL variant is designed for use with a standard caulk gun and is not interchangeable with EPX applicator-format nozzles. Always confirm the correct mixing nose for your cartridge format and applicator type before dispensing. Using a mismatched mixing nose may result in incorrect metering, leaks, or incomplete mixing.

Storage and Maintenance Considerations

Correct handling of the mixing nose between uses helps protect the remaining adhesive or repair compound in the cartridge and ensures that fresh, correctly blended material is delivered at the start of every application session.

Sealing Cartridges Between Uses

  • After dispensing, leave the used mixing nose attached to the cartridge outlet.
  • The mixed material inside the nose will cure and harden, sealing the outlet and protecting the remaining adhesive or repair compound from moisture and air contamination.
  • When resuming use, remove the sealed mixing nose and replace with a new one. Dispense a short purge bead onto a waste surface before applying to the substrate to clear the cartridge inlet and prime the new mixing nose.
  • Do not attempt to reuse a mixing nose that has been left on the cartridge as a seal. The cured material inside will not remix correctly.

General Handling and Storage

  • Store unused mixing noses in a clean, dry location away from direct sunlight and heat sources.
  • Inspect the mixing nose outlet before use to confirm the tip is clear and undamaged before attaching to the cartridge.
  • Do not use mixing noses that have been dropped, deformed, or contaminated prior to use.
  • Dispose of used mixing noses in accordance with applicable local regulations for adhesive and chemical waste.

Best Practices for Consistent Mix Quality

  • Always match the mixing nose to the cartridge size and format. Using a mixing nose designed for a different cartridge size can result in off-ratio material and reduced adhesive or repair compound performance.
  • Always dispense a short purge bead at the start of each application session to prime the mixing nose and confirm that both components are flowing correctly before applying to the substrate.
  • Replace the mixing nose any time the application is interrupted long enough for the material inside to begin curing. For fast-curing adhesives, this can occur within minutes of stopping dispensing.
  • Ensure adhesive or repair compound cartridges are at the recommended application temperature before dispensing. Cold material increases dispensing resistance and may affect mixing quality through the nose.
  • Use original 3M mixing noses to maintain the metering accuracy and application consistency that 3M adhesive and repair compound performance is based on.
