CONAP DS-1831A red color concentrate

CONAP DS-1831A is the red grade within the CONAP DS-1830 Series of color concentrates for epoxy and polyurethane systems. It contains 15% pigment and is used to modify the color of compatible resin systems used for electrical potting, casting, and encapsulation.

The DS-1830 Series combines high compatibility with most epoxy and urethane systems with heat-stable pigments and improved heat and light resistance. DS-1831A may be incorporated into the appropriate resin component or into the total mixed system using the recommended addition ranges for filled and unfilled formulations.

Product selector

CONAP DS-1830 Series selector guide

Select the DS-1830 Series grade according to the required color and pigment concentration. DS-1831A is the red, 15% pigment grade shown on this page.

Product Color Pigment concentration Selection position
CONAP DS-1831A Red 15% Current product
CONAP DS-1832 Black 18% Black color concentrate
CONAP DS-1832 AP Black 18% Black color concentrate
CONAP DS-1833 Blue 50% Blue color concentrate
CONAP DS-1836 White 40% White color concentrate

Pigment concentration varies by grade. The amount of concentrate required in a formulation can also vary by color.

Formulation guidance

Choose the addition route for the resin system

The point of addition depends on whether the host formulation is an epoxy or polyurethane system. Mix the concentrate until all striations have disappeared and the material is homogeneous.

Epoxy systems

Mix the color concentrate with the epoxy Resin, Part A, or with the total mixed system.

Polyurethane systems

Mix the color concentrate with the polyurethane Curative, Part B, or with the total mixed system.

Host-system configuration Suggested concentrate addition Basis
Unfilled systems 3 to 5 parts by weight Per 100 parts by weight of base epoxy Resin or urethane Curative
Unfilled systems, total mixture basis 2% to 4% by weight Of the total mixed system
Filled systems 2 to 3 parts by weight Per 100 parts by weight of base epoxy Resin or urethane Curative

Adjustment guidance: The actual amount of color concentrate varies with the color used. Darker colors may require lower addition levels, while lighter colors may require higher amounts. Addition above the recommended levels may adversely affect the final properties of the cured epoxy or polyurethane system.
