CAPLINQ is proud to be a supplier of its own LINQTAPE™ PIT-Series brand of high-performance, flexible, high-temperature resistant polyimide film for many high temperature applications. Polyimide is preferred over polyester for many high-temperature applications. These applications include but are not limited to semiconductor, smartcard, electronic, automotive and general manufacturing industries.
LINQTAPE™ PIT-Series polyimide films are generic versions of DuPont's Kapton® film. As such, they are very stable at high temperatures, have excellent dielectric insulation properties, are mechanically solid without being too rigid and can withstand a wide range of chemicals and solvents. LINQTAPE polyimide films can be used in applications that may see temperatures up to 260°C (500°F).
LINQTAPE™ PIT-Series polyimide films typically come in 33 meter (36 yard) length rolls of varying widths. The base polyimide film (backing) thickness range is between 1-mil (25µm) and 5-mil (125µm) thick. Other widths, lengths and thicknesses may be available upon request.
LINQTAPE™ PIT-Series polyimide tapes start with a LINQTAPE polyimide film base and then an adhesive layer is applied to it. The base material itself has the same high temperature resistance, and dielectric properties described above, but the adhesive type and properties plays an important role in the selection process of a polyimide tape.
For high temperature applications, silicone is the adhesive of choice for polyimide tapes because it has the highest temperature resistance and maintains its adhesion the most when exposed to higher temperatures. In applications where silicone can absolutely not be used, or in applications that require a higher room-temperature adhesion is needed, CAPLINQ offers an acrylic adhesive version of polyimide tape. The range of polyimide tapes we offer has grown over the years as customers requested anti-static versions of adhesives, adhesives that left no residue after removal or very thin layers of adhesive.
LINQTAPE™ PIT-Series polyimide tapes typically come in 33 meter (36 yard) length rolls of varying widths. See the tape below for the range of polyimide tapes we currently offer. Other widths, lengths, thicknesses or adhesive types may be available upon request.
Polyimide film and tape vary widely in their composition and application. Polyimide tapes may have silicone or silicone-free or adhesive, whereas polyimide film has no adhesive. Polyimide film can be as thin as 0.5 mil or as thick as 5 mil. Polyimide tape can be single-sided or double-sided and may come with or without release liner. Our Polyimide Tape and Polyimide Film Selector tool can help you choose the right polyimide tape for your application.
